Police arrest suspects in Abuja kidnapping and murder case
The Nigeria Police Force has arrested seven suspects in connection with the abduction and murder of 14-year-old Oluwadamilola Adedayo in Abuja. The incident began when kidnappers attacked the Adedayo family home in Kuje, abducting the teenager, her brother David, their mother Nancy, and their maid, Jennifer David.
According to police and survivor accounts, the family was taken to a mountainous area. Despite the family paying a ransom, the victim was killed. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr. Godfrey, stated the girl was murdered after resisting an attempt by her captors to sexually molest her. A survivor recounted that the victim was also attacked with stones after she managed to seize a cutlass from one of the kidnappers.
The Force Intelligence Department Special Tactical Squad confirmed the arrests following intensive tracking operations. The case has highlighted escalating security concerns in the Federal Capital Territory, as criminal syndicates continue to target families for high-value ransoms.
