Police arrest suspects in Dominican Republic and Mexico crime operations

Authorities in the Dominican Republic and Mexico have conducted separate operations targeting criminal groups.

In Santo Domingo, agents from the Dirección Central de Investigación (DICRIM) arrested five men suspected of participating in a gang dedicated to armed robberies in public spaces. The suspects, identified as Scorin Millet Nolasco Mena, Yirbel Antonio Morel, Johandry Alexander Sarante Figueroa, Luis Ángel de la Rosa Durán, and Yensi Albarez Martínez, were caught following an investigation into an August 3 robbery. Police recovered a .38 caliber revolver, mobile phones, jewelry, and a wallet. The group is also linked to a robbery in the Colonial City.

In Tecate, Mexico, the Fiscalía General del Estado of Baja California has formally charged four individuals suspected of being part of a criminal cell. The suspects, identified as Jesús Adrián “N”, José Raúl “N”, Jonathan Miguel “N”, and Josué Noel “N”, allegedly performed surveillance duties using radios and cell phones to alert other gang members of police presence. The investigation also links the group to a violent armed attack at a commercial establishment known as “Mis Tíos”.
