Police arrest suspects in Rethymno robbery and Koridallos metro assault

Two separate violent incidents were reported in Greece involving police intervention. In Rethymno, two foreign men were arrested following an armed robbery on the night of Saturday, August 22. The suspects allegedly threatened a 27-year-old man with a carbine and fired shots into the air to intimidate him before stealing his belongings. The stolen items were later recovered by police.

In a separate incident at the Koridallos metro station on August 21, a man was arrested after attacking a station master. The confrontation reportedly began after a woman complained about harassment by the individual, described as a substance user. According to the Hellenic Police, the suspect also attacked officers from the ‘Ariadne’ Plan during their intervention. The perpetrator faces charges of disobedience and violence against public officials and judicial officers.
