Police arrest suspects in Rochester shooting and Maidstone stabbing

In Rochester, New York, police have arrested two individuals in connection with an attempted robbery and shooting on Grover Street. On August 10, a man in his 20s was shot during an attempted robbery and transported to Strong Hospital with serious injuries. Following a police pursuit of a 2023 Maserati on August 12, officers detained three males and recovered a loaded 9mm Taurus handgun. Investigators identified the driver, 18-year-old Laquan Gadsden, and passenger Tyquan Lewis-Quiros, 21, as the suspects in the Grover Street shooting. Gadsden faces multiple charges, including first-degree assault, attempted robbery, and unlawful fleeing a police officer. Lewis-Quiros is charged with first-degree assault and attempted robbery.

In a separate incident in Maidstone, UK, three suspects were detained following a stabbing on High Street. A teenager was injured during a street brawl on August 15 and remains in stable condition. Police recovered a knife from the scene and apprehended three individuals, aged 34, 38, and 40, at residential addresses. The suspects have been granted conditional bail as investigations continue.
