Police in Benin and Senegal have made arrests following separate residential burglaries.
In Pahou, Benin, the Republican Police apprehended three individuals suspected of stealing and receiving stolen household appliances from the home of a corporal-chef in the Benin Armed Forces. The investigation began after a complaint regarding a burglary that occurred approximately one month ago. Authorities recovered one stolen device at a local flea market, leading to the arrest of a suspected receiver, a supplier, and a third individual. During searches, police also discovered various technological items, including computers and mixing tables, the origins of which are still being investigated.
In Ziguinchor, Senegal, police in Yamatogne arrested an individual following a burglary at an entrepreneur's residence. The theft, which occurred between September 19 and 20, resulted in the loss of a safe containing 20,000,000 FCFA, 800 euros, documents, watches, and perfumes. Following operational intelligence, the Research Brigade intercepted two suspects on a motorcycle. One suspect confessed to the crime, stating they used a tool to open the safe and subsequently sold the stolen watches.
