Police arrest suspects in separate Indonesian crime incidents

Authorities in Indonesia have apprehended suspects involved in two distinct criminal incidents. In Agam Regency, Bukittinggi Police arrested one individual following an armed robbery attempt in Tilatang Kamang. On the night of October 19, 2026, four men targeted a shop owner during closing hours. The suspects used a car and a motorcycle to threaten the victims and fired a weapon at a victim's leg. Despite the violence, the suspects failed to steal Rp90 million in cash.

In Badung, police arrested two men, aged 22 and 24, for a series of arson attacks. The suspects admitted to burning rice threshing machines and fences at the Sangeh tourist attraction to vent frustration after losing money gambling. These incidents, which occurred between June and October 2026, resulted in significant property damage and financial losses for local residents and tourism operators.
