Police arrest suspects in separate murder investigations in Australia and the US
In separate criminal investigations, authorities in Australia and the United States have made significant breakthroughs regarding missing persons cases.
In Queensland, Australia, a 52-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman have been charged with murder and interfering with a corpse following the discovery of human remains in Bethania, Logan. The remains are believed to be those of Chad Bishop, 46, who had been missing since March 2022. Police located the remains while executing a search warrant at a property on Old Trafford Road, focusing on a hole discovered in the backyard. The suspects were scheduled to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court.
In Florida, United States, a 45-day multistate manhunt concluded with the arrest of 38-year-old Isabelle Johnson. Johnson is accused of murdering 43-year-old Jason Coulthart, whose body was found in a shallow grave covered with concrete. Authorities allege the victim was killed using a zip tie around his neck. The investigation, which spanned Florida, Georgia, and Alabama, involved the U.S. Marshals Task Force and the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. Johnson has been extradited to Walton County and is being held without bond.
