Germany arrests suspect in Budva Megamarket robbery
German police have arrested a 24-year-old Serbian citizen, L. M., in connection with an armed robbery at the Megamarket in Budva, Montenegro. The arrest was carried out following an Interpol warrant issued by Podgorica.
The incident occurred on August 8, around 10:40 PM, when three masked individuals entered the market's office. Using a handgun to threaten the manager and two other employees, the suspects demanded cash from the safe. They successfully stole 372,750 euros, which represented the market's turnover from the previous two days.
Montenegrin authorities had previously identified all three foreign suspects involved in the crime. No employees were injured during the robbery. L. M. is being sought to ensure his presence in criminal proceedings before the High Court in Podgorica regarding charges of robbery, illegal possession of weapons, and explosives.
