Brazil police report surge in organized crime violence and arrests

Law enforcement agencies across Brazil are reporting a series of violent incidents linked to organized crime and criminal factions. In São José dos Quatro Marcos, three women were arrested for torturing a 32-year-old woman under orders from a criminal faction during a video call ‘judgment’. Similarly, in Itaperuna, a man was arrested for his involvement in a double homicide where a couple was killed with stones following a suspected betrayal sanctioned by a ‘crime tribunal’.

In São Paulo, authorities are investigating the deaths of 17 individuals found with signs of torture and execution, with several cases suspected to be related to the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC). In Água Clara, three suspects were charged for the execution of a 17-year-old, an act potentially linked to rivalry between the PCC and Comando Vermelho (CV).

Other regional reports include a fatal shooting in Maceió, a homicide during a birthday celebration in Ji-Paraná, and the arrest of a fugitive in Teresina. Police operations continue to target various crimes, including drug trafficking, illegal weapons possession, and domestic violence across multiple states.
