Police arrest suspects in two separate fatal stabbing incidents in Vietnam

Police in Vietnam have arrested two suspects in connection with separate fatal stabbing incidents in An Giang and Ca Mau provinces.

In An Giang, authorities have detained Tran Thi My Chi for investigation into murder. The incident occurred on October 3 following a dispute over child support payments. During a physical altercation involving knives, Chi allegedly stabbed a woman, identified as Ms. M., who died before reaching the hospital. Chi, who was previously serving a suspended sentence for drug trafficking, surrendered to local police following the attack.

In Ca Mau, Tran Chi Cong, 40, was urgently arrested for the murder of a 6-year-old girl and the wounding of two others. On October 5, Cong allegedly attacked a mother and her two children with a knife. The victims, a primary school teacher and her children aged 11 and 6, were rushed to the hospital; the youngest child succumbed to her injuries. Preliminary investigations suggest the motive was jealousy related to a prior romantic relationship between the suspect and the mother.
