Paraíba police arrest suspected serial killer in Mulungu

Authorities in Paraíba have arrested Jorlan Alves da Silva, a 33-year-old man suspected of being a serial killer responsible for 16 homicides in just three months in the Vale do Mamanguape region. During the arrest in Mulungu, the suspect attempted to evade police by wearing women's clothing and carrying a two-year-old child. During interrogation, Silva reportedly claimed to have committed approximately 80 murders throughout his life, starting at age 13.

Separate criminal incidents were reported across Brazil, including the arrest of a 75-year-old man in Amazonas for the sexual abuse of a 13-year-old, and the detention of a pastor in Rondônia investigated for sexual crimes against women. In Rio de Janeiro, a man was arrested for the sexual abuse of his own children. Additionally, in Paraná, two municipal guards were arrested for allegedly torturing and setting fire to a man during a false arrest attempt.
