Police arrest two suspects for impersonation fraud in Konya
Two suspects, identified as A. K. and D. Y. G., have been arrested after posing as a police officer and a public prosecutor to defraud a citizen in the Selçuklu district of Konya.
The perpetrators contacted the victim by phone, creating a sense of panic and fear to convince them to hand over a large amount of jewelry and cash at their residence. Following the theft, the suspects attempted to flee toward Istanbul by switching between two different commercial taxis.
Police tracked the suspects to the Anadolu Highway in Bolu, where they were apprehended. Authorities recovered a significant amount of stolen property, including 45 Ata gold coins, various gold bracelets, necklaces, and 14,000 TL in cash. The two suspects were subsequently remanded in custody by the court.
