Police arrest two suspects in Chimbote double murder case, Peru

The National Police of Peru, through the DEPINCRI Chimbote unit, carried out a raid on the early morning of 27 July. The operation resulted in the detention of Yonatan Anderson Benigno Silva, 31, known as “Muelas”, and Carolay Jessenia Delgado Pumachaico, 24, alias “Carolay”. Both are suspected of involvement in a double homicide that occurred on 14 November 2025 at a commercial establishment in Chimbote, where two people were killed.

The arrests followed searches of properties in the San Pedro town and the Esperanza Alta settlement. Police seized various items for forensic analysis and the operation was supported by specialized units of DIVINCRI Áncash, other police support units, the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Public Defense. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities awaiting further judicial determinations.
