Police arrest woman after methamphetamine found during roadside test
A 49-year-old woman has been arrested and charged following a roadside drug test on the New England Highway near Scone. The Hunter Valley Highway Patrol stopped the vehicle on Monday morning for routine testing.
After the driver allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine, officers searched the vehicle. They reportedly discovered $500 in cash, a glass pipe, and 56.6 grams of a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.
The woman was taken to Muswellbrook Police Station and charged with possessing and supplying a prohibited drug. She has been granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear in Scone Local Court on October 14, 2026. She was also issued a 24-hour driving prohibition notice.
