In Argentina, legal discussions regarding the Buenos Aires Province Police have highlighted the rights and duties associated with ‘police status.’ Under Law 13.982, officers possess employment stability, specific pension regimes, and the right to legal defense for service-related acts. They are also mandated to carry their regulated firearms both on and off duty, unless suspended by medical or administrative orders. Their authority includes the use of proportional force and the power to intervene in crimes or contraventions at any time.

In the Dominican Republic, local governance initiatives are being evaluated for potential national expansion. In Santo Domingo Este, authorities have conducted raids against vehicles occupying sidewalks and illegal public transport services.
