Police Cadet AMM Dies After Fall at Indonesia's Akpol Semarang

A 19‑year‑old police cadet identified only as AMM, originally from Makassar and assigned by West Papua Police, was found injured outside the Hoegeng building at the Police Academy (Akpol) in Semarang on the night of 30 July. He was taken by fellow trainees to the academy’s medical facility, but died while receiving treatment on 31 July. Police officials confirmed the death and expressed condolences to the family.

The West Java Police Public Relations chief, Kombes Yuliyanto, said investigators are still examining the scene and interviewing witnesses to determine the cause of the injuries. No definitive explanation has been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
