Police charge men in two separate Australian murder investigations

Two separate murder investigations are underway in Australia following violent incidents in New South Wales and Western Australia.

In Mole River, New South Wales, a 37-year-old man has been charged with murder after the body of a 70-year-old woman was discovered in a fire-damaged house. The discovery followed a reported domestic violence incident and an attempted vehicle theft at a neighboring property, where a 74-year-old man was assaulted. Police believe the accused and the deceased were known to each other. Tenterfield Mayor Bronwyn Petrie noted the community has been shaken by the tragedy.

In Rockingham, Western Australia, a 46-year-old man from Byford has been charged with the murder of 44-year-old Cameron Lee. Lee was found with stab wounds at an intersection on Friday evening and later died at Rockingham General Hospital. Police are also investigating a blue Hyundai Getz that was reportedly seen driving erratically before being found burnt out in the Byford area. The vehicle is believed to be connected to the incident.
