Police chase ends in collision on RN19 near Morvillars, driver flees

On July 29, 2024, a police pursuit in the Territoire de Belfort concluded when a suspect’s black Renault Clio collided with a police Peugeot 5008 at the roundabout between Morvillars and Grandvillars on the RN19. The crash severely damaged the front‑right doors and wheels of both vehicles. Two police officers inside the Peugeot were lightly injured and taken to the Nord Franche‑Comté hospital for checks. The driver of the Clio abandoned the vehicle and escaped on foot into nearby vegetation, prompting a large‑scale search by gendarmes and police.

Traffic on the RN19 was temporarily disrupted while emergency services attended the scene. Authorities continue to pursue the suspect.
