Police chase in Mendoza halts house‑robbery gang, two arrested

Police from the Division of Motor Theft intercepted a suspected house‑robbing gang after they left the Sanctuary Nuestra Señora de Lourdes in El Challao, Las Heras, Mendoza, Argentina. Investigators had been tracking a grey Volkswagen T‑Cross with altered plates that the suspects had used the previous day in Chacras de Coria, Luján.

During a midday pursuit, officers fired at the vehicle, disabling it and forcing the driver to stop in the Cementista neighbourhood. Two gang members were taken into custody – one a native of Córdoba – while a third suspect escaped. Detectives said the arrested individuals belong to an organization involved in vehicle theft and home burglaries across the Gran Mendoza area.
