Police chase in the Netherlands ends after vehicle runs out of fuel
A high-speed police chase involving a Belgian vehicle ended after the driver ran out of fuel on the A16 motorway in the Netherlands. The pursuit began in Dordrecht after Zeehavenpolitie Rotterdam officers attempted to stop the vehicle for significantly exceeding the speed limit.
During the chase, which spanned Dordrecht, the N3, and the A16, the occupants ignored multiple red lights and reached speeds of up to 200 km/h. The vehicle eventually stalled on the shoulder of the A16 due to an empty fuel tank, allowing authorities to apprehend all four occupants.
Following the arrest, investigators determined the driver was under the influence. Other occupants were noted for failing to cooperate, including one individual who insulted officers and another who could not provide identification.
