Police chase suspects following burglary in St. Tönis

Police in Germany are searching for a suspect following a high-speed chase and a commercial burglary in Tönisvorst. During the early hours of Thursday, a black Renault Twingo with Recklinghausen license plates was allegedly used as a battering ram, driving backward through the window of a garden equipment specialty store to facilitate a theft.

Following the break-in, a white transporter carrying stolen electrical devices was spotted by a patrol team. The suspects fled in the van, leading police on a chase via the A44 motorway toward Düsseldorf, supported by a police helicopter. The pursuit ended in Wülfrath when the van crashed into a fence on a parking lot.

Three men fled the vehicle upon impact; two were temporarily detained, while a third escaped. Investigators have determined that a fourth individual was involved in the crime, acting as the driver of the Renault Twingo. Police are currently seeking information regarding the driver of the black Twingo.
