Indonesian Police investigate Kalimantan forest fires and mark Hari Juang Polri
Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has confirmed several arrests in connection with widespread forest and land fires across Kalimantan. Authorities are conducting investigations to determine the causes of the fires, with approximately 12 suspects already named by Central Kalimantan Regional Police. The Ministry of Forestry has emphasized that legal action will be taken against those found to be using fire for land clearing.
Simultaneously, the Indonesian National Police marked 'Hari Juang Polri' (Police Struggle Day) on August 21. Commemorations were held across various regions, including Surabaya and Deli Serdang, to honor the historical role of the police in Indonesia's independence.
