São Paulo interior police capture convicted rapist and theft suspect

The Civil Police in Ouro Verde, about 95 km from Presidente Prudente, arrested a 64‑year‑old man who had been definitively sentenced for rape of a vulnerable victim. The arrest was carried out under a mandate from the State Department of Criminal Execution, and the convict is to serve eight years in a semi‑open regime.

In a separate operation in Presidente Prudente, the State Military Police used the Águia‑5 helicopter to track and apprehend a 49‑year‑old man suspected of multiple home burglaries. The aerial support enabled real‑time monitoring of the suspect’s vehicle, leading to his capture and the recovery of stolen items. He also faces charges for driving without a license.
