Police Commissioner Flavio Marino transferred from La Matanza to Lomas de Zamora
Police Commissioner Flavio Andrés Marino has been transferred from his position as head of the La Matanza Departmental Investigation Directorate (DDI) to lead the DDI in Lomas de Zamora. The move, approved by the Buenos Aires Ministry of Security, was described by authorities as being due to “operational issues.”
Marino, who was recognized as the 2025 Police Officer of the Year by Governor Axel Kicillof, gained prominence for his role in dismantling a drug trafficking organization following the triple femicide of Morena Verdi, Lara Gutiérrez, and Brenda del Castillo. The investigation into that case is currently being handled by Federal Court No. 2 of Morón.
Alfredo González, previously the head of the Lomas de Zamora DDI, will replace Marino in La Matanza.
