Ostrołęka schools to maintain police patrols following knife attack

Following a knife attack at Vocational School Complex No. 4 in Ostrołęka, police will maintain a heightened presence in schools throughout Ostrołęka and the surrounding county. The patrols, which began on Friday, will continue through Monday, covering both the interior of school buildings and the surrounding areas from early morning until the end of classes.

The increased security measures come after the temporary arrest of 19-year-old Jakub Z., the alleged perpetrator of the attack. The Komenda Miejska Policji w Ostrołęce has issued a communication to parents and school directors, noting that the presence of officers is intended to provide a sense of security for students, staff, and parents while schools implement new safety procedures. These procedures include updated rules for building entry, access control, and increased staff presence at entrances.
