Dyrøy: Man arrested after four-day armed standoff

A man was arrested early Saturday morning after a four-day armed standoff in a house on Dyrøy in Troms. The incident began on Tuesday following a welfare check, during which police were threatened with a weapon. On Wednesday, the man reportedly fired a shot at officers from the residence.

During the standoff, neighbors were evacuated and a local road was closed. Police utilized drones for surveillance and received assistance from multiple police districts, including Nordland, Agder, Finnmark, and Trøndelag, as well as national emergency resources.

Operations leader Robin Lindberg stated that the decision to move in was made when the risk was assessed as lower for those involved. No injuries were reported during the operation. The man has been transported to Tromsø, and authorities are continuing their investigation at the scene.
