Police conduct arrests and vehicle seizures at German and Swiss borders

German federal police arrested a 35-year-old Turkish national during border controls at the A8 crossing in Bad Reichenhall. The individual, traveling on a Bulgarian bus, was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant from the Siegen prosecutor's office. The warrant involves charges of rape, aggravated bodily harm, arson, theft, coercion, and intentional bodily harm. The man must serve a remaining sentence of 668 days.

In Switzerland, customs officials in Thayngen stopped a German-registered vehicle during a technical inspection. Authorities discovered the car was missing a left brake caliper on the front axle and had mismatched wheels on the rear axle. The 49-year-old Ukrainian driver was prohibited from continuing the journey, and the vehicle was towed. The driver will face the Schaffhausen public prosecutor's office for operating an unsafe vehicle.
