Police conduct arrests in Jhelum and Islamabad

Police in Jhelum conducted 16 search operations across the district, inspecting 180 homes, 25 hotels, and various bus stands. The operations, directed by DPO Jhelum Shafiq Ahmed Chaudhary, resulted in the arrest of four suspects, including an Afghan citizen residing illegally, a drug dealer, a liquor supplier, and a wanted criminal. Authorities seized 20 liters of alcohol and 520 grams of hashish during the raids.

In a separate development in Islamabad, lawyer Iman Mazari and her husband Hadi Chattha were re-arrested by Islamabad Police in connection with a new case registered at Kohsar Police Station under the Anti-Terrorism Act. This arrest occurred shortly after the Supreme Court had granted them bail. An Anti-Terrorism Court rejected police requests for a 30-day physical remand, instead ordering that both individuals be sent to jail on judicial remand.
