Mexican Navy seizes tons of cocaine in Pacific maritime operations

The Mexican Navy has conducted major maritime drug interdiction operations in the Pacific Ocean, resulting in the seizure of several tons of cocaine.

In a recent operation approximately 315 kilometers southwest of Zihuatanejo, naval agents intercepted a vessel containing two crew members and 1,900 kilograms of cocaine packaged in 53 bundles. This seizure is estimated to have an economic impact of approximately 405 million pesos and prevented over three million doses from entering the market.

In a separate operation near Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán, authorities recovered over 1,600 kilograms of cocaine consisting of 54 floating packages. This find, located approximately 329 kilometers southwest of the coast, represents an estimated loss of 340.2 million pesos for criminal organizations and prevented an additional three million doses from reaching the market. These actions follow a recent seizure in the same region where nearly two tons of drugs were also recovered.
