Police conduct operations in Greece and Cyprus resulting in arrests

Police in Greece and Cyprus conducted several operations resulting in arrests and various citations.

In Greece, authorities in Sparta solved three fraud cases involving a 22-year-old local man and unknown accomplices. Additionally, in Kalamata, a 37-year-old foreign national was arrested for drug trafficking. During a search of his residence, police seized 48.5 grams of cannabis, three folding knives, €3,690 in suspected illicit proceeds, and two mobile phones.

In Cyprus, nationwide organized police operations led to 11 arrests involving offenses such as illegal stay, drug possession, and traffic crimes. During the operations, officers stopped 667 vehicles and inspected 925 individuals. Authorities recorded 353 traffic violations, including 84 cases of speeding, and impounded 18 vehicles. Alcohol and drug tests were also conducted, resulting in 28 citations for driving under the influence of alcohol.
