Police conduct pursuits and arrests following vehicle thefts in Canada and France

Police in Drummondville, Quebec, arrested a suspect following a short pursuit on Wednesday afternoon. The individual, who is known to authorities, was driving a vehicle suspected of being stolen. The arrest took place near Boulevard Lemire and Rue du Grand-Duc. A passenger was also detained for questioning.

This incident follows a series of vehicle thefts and attempted thefts in the Drummondville area. Authorities noted that many recent crimes have been opportunistic, targeting unlocked vehicles or items left in plain sight.

In France, three suspects were apprehended near Lyon after allegedly stealing an Amazon delivery van in Rillieux-la-Pape. Following a pursuit on the A46 highway, police located the suspects transferring packages to another vehicle. During the chase, suspects discarded several parcels on the shoulder of the road. The driver was found to be under the influence of narcotics and driving with a canceled license.
