Police conduct searches in Gorj and Dolj regarding tax evasion

Police from the Gorj Economic Crime Investigation Service executed 15 search warrants on October 20, 2026, across Gorj and Dolj counties. The operation targets suspected tax evasion involving artistic activities.

Investigators believe that between January 1, 2022, and August 30, 2026, certain incomes from artistic performances were partially or totally omitted from the accounting records of several commercial companies. The total financial damage is currently being estimated. Among those whose names appeared in reports related to the operation is folk artist Loredana Șotea. The investigation is being conducted under the coordination of a prosecutor from the Gorj Tribunal Prosecutor's Office.
