Police confront individuals in separate incidents in Taiwan and Hong Kong

In Taipei, a man armed with a weeding knife and a baseball bat caused public alarm while wandering the streets in the Shilin District. Police responded to reports of the man's unpredictable behavior and engaged in a tense standoff. The individual, identified as Mr. Huang, reportedly acted out due to emotional distress stemming from marital and debt issues. No injuries were reported as the man eventually calmed down, and the case has been referred to the Shilin Police Division for investigation under the Social Order Maintenance Act.

In Hong Kong, police officers intercepted a 34-year-old man in Mong Kok after noticing suspicious behavior. The man, identified by the surname Leung, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and became emotionally agitated during the encounter. While video footage of the police subduing the man circulated on social media, police confirmed that no illegal items were found on his person, and he was subsequently released.
