Bahia police operation in Porto Seguro results in three deaths and weapon seizures

A joint operation by the Civil and Military Police in the Vera Cruz district of Porto Seguro, Bahia, resulted in a confrontation that left three suspects dead. The operation was launched following reports of an execution in Vera Cruz, after which suspects fled toward Pindorama using high-caliber firearms.

During the intervention, police established a blockade on the BR-367 highway near the Vale Verde junction. Officers intercepted a white Volkswagen Voyage and several motorcycles. According to authorities, the suspects opened fire on the police teams, prompting a reaction. Following the exchange, wounded individuals were found near the vehicle, a motorcycle, and a coffee plantation; they were transported to the Hospital Luís Eduardo Magalhães.

Authorities seized two 5.56 caliber rifles with suppressed serial numbers, two pistols (a Bersa 9mm and a Zigana PX-9 G2), multiple magazines, and various rounds of ammunition. Other items recovered included a ballistic vest cover, a balaclava, and mobile phones. A second confrontation occurred when police attempted to intercept a Hyundai Creta, which was subsequently seized after the occupants fled into a wooded area.
