Police delegate ordered to pay R$ 2.7 million for condominium irregularities

A court in the Distrito Federal has ordered Laércio de Carvalho Alves, a Civil Police delegate and former manager of the Condomínio Residencial RK, to pay approximately R$ 2.7 million. The ruling concerns financial irregularities during his tenure as manager in Sobradinho between September 2008 and September 2010.

The legal dispute began in 2013 after the condominium and its residents sought documentation regarding his management, as previous accounts had been rejected by the Fiscal Council and the General Assembly. While an initial audit suggested discrepancies as high as R$ 10.1 million after inflation adjustments, a judicial expert identified R$ 1.4 million in irregular values, including R$ 538,000 in unidentified financial outflows and R$ 909,400 in unproven expenses.

Identified issues included documents issued to individuals with no connection to the condominium, missing receipts, expired invoices, discrepancies between contracted services and documentation, and unsigned or unidentified vouchers. The sentence, published on Monday, remains subject to appeal.
