Police detain car watcher in Costa Rica and officer assault trial begins in Spain

The individual is accused of intimidating and threatening drivers in the high-traffic area surrounding the medical center. In Spain, a trial has commenced in the Audiencia de Sevilla regarding an attempted murder of a police officer. The incident occurred in January 2023, when a driver allegedly used a chokehold on an officer during a traffic stop. The victim testified to the violence of the encounter, stating, “I am drowning,” as she struggled for air. The defendant, José Manuel S. C., claimed he had consumed ecstasy and had no memory of the event, facing a potential sentence of up to twelve and a half years in prison.
