Police detain robbery suspect in Cancún and sexual assault suspect in Melilla

In Cancún, Mexico, a former OXXO employee, identified as Wendy Clarisa “N”, has been detained following an altercation with police. Authorities from the State Security Secretariat’s Orion Group initially stopped the woman for obstructing traffic with a motorcycle. After she reportedly reacted aggressively toward officers, she was taken into custody for disobedience and resistance.

Preliminary investigations suggest the woman may be linked to approximately 11 robberies at OXXO convenience stores. Investigators believe she may have used internal knowledge regarding cash handling procedures to facilitate the crimes. Authorities are currently working to identify potential accomplices.

In Melilla, Spain, the National Police’s Family and Women Attention Unit (UFAM) has arrested a third suspect in connection with a sexual assault reported near the Plaza de las Culturas. The incident occurred between August 8 and August 9. The two previous suspects in the case have already been placed in provisional prison. The investigation remains open as authorities work to clarify the circumstances of the non-consensual contact reported in the public thoroughfare.
