Police detain suspects in Marbella surgeon murder and German hotel killing

An 18-year-old Swedish national remains in custody in Spain following the targeted killing of plastic surgeon Alexander Aslani in Marbella. The incident occurred at the Cirumed clinic when a hooded assailant entered the treatment room and shot Aslani at close range, hitting him in the head and neck. The suspect was apprehended by Spanish national police less than 24 hours after the shooting. Authorities are investigating whether the youth was hired as a contract killer, a trend involving Scandinavian juveniles in European organized crime.

In a separate case, a 43-year-old man from Almelo remains detained in the Netherlands facing charges related to a sexual offense, which has delayed his extradition to Germany. German authorities have accused him of the robbery-murder of a 35-year-old man from Enschede. The victim, who uses a wheelchair, had met the suspect online to attend a fireworks show in Rees, Germany. The victim was found strangled in his hotel room, and his vehicle and wallet were stolen. The suspect was apprehended in De Burcht while attempting to flee.
