Moldova launches anonymous STOP-DROG reporting platform

Moldovan authorities have launched ‘STOP-DROG’, a new digital platform designed to allow citizens to report drug consumption and trafficking anonymously. The application is available via web browsers or as a mobile app on Google Play and the App Store, supporting Romanian, Russian, and English languages.

The initiative is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the General Police Inspectorate. According to Interior Minister Daniella Misail-Nichitin, the tool provides a secure communication channel to help police identify and investigate suspicious activities.

General Police Inspectorate Chief Viorel Cernăuțeanu noted that reports are automatically routed to competent inspectorates for analysis. Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun emphasized that the platform will also be utilized by educational institutions to report risks detected within schools or local communities. Authorities clarified that the platform is not a replacement for emergency services and advised calling 112 in immediate danger situations.
