Police disperse demonstrators in Maharashtra village during RSS rally

Tension broke out in Kingaon village, located in the Jalgaon district of Maharashtra, after a group of demonstrators blocked a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) procession by sitting on the road.

Jalgaon Additional SP Sandeep Gavit reported that police attempted to reason with the protesters, but when they refused to move, officers used a mild lathi charge to clear the path and allow the rally to proceed. Several individuals involved in the disturbance were taken into custody.

Authorities stated that the situation has since calmed down, though a police force remains stationed in the village to maintain order. Officials have urged the public not to believe rumors and to report information directly to the police.
