Police Dormitory Fires Sweep Jambi and Solo

Large fires broke out in police dormitory (Aspol) complexes in Jambi and Solo, Indonesia, on July 30 and 31, 2026. In Jambi, eight houses were consumed by flames, while in Solo, twelve houses were heavily damaged. Both incidents caused material losses but no reported fatalities. Firefighters from local emergency services, supported by police units, worked for several hours to extinguish the blazes. The causes of the fires remain under investigation by authorities, and the affected families have been evacuated and are receiving assistance from local disaster and health agencies.

The incidents prompted traffic disruptions near the Jambi site and the establishment of emergency shelters for displaced residents in Solo. Police spokesperson Kombes Pol Erlan Munaji (Jambi) and PMI Solo chairman Sumartono Hadinoto (Solo) confirmed that casualty numbers are zero and that damage assessments are ongoing.
