Police find abandoned vehicle linked to Eusebio Ayala homicide

Police in Paraguay have discovered an abandoned white Toyota Fortuner in a wooded area near Patiño, Itauguá, which is suspected to be linked to a violent crime in Eusebio Ayala. The vehicle was found following a 911 emergency call on Friday.

Criminalistics agents reported finding unidentified stains on the rear seats and a green women’s bracelet inside the vehicle. Authorities noted that the truck appeared to have undergone a recent, superficial cleaning. The discovery follows a September 28 incident where two women, Rebeca Martínez and Carolina Raquel Aguilar, were struck by a white vehicle and forcibly taken. Martínez was later found dead in a municipal cemetery, while Aguilar remains in critical condition.

Prosecutor Norma Salinas has ordered the vehicle to be transferred to the Cordillera Police Directorate for forensic examination. Two suspects, Édgar Clodomiro Rodríguez Merlo and Junior Ramón Delvalle Almeida, have been charged with aggravated intentional homicide and attempted homicide, respectively, and remain at large.
