Human remains found in search for missing woman Kerstin Lee Langley

Police in Bavaria have discovered human remains during excavations in the Upper Palatinate, potentially providing a breakthrough in the 19-year-old disappearance of Kerstin Lee Langley. Langley, who was 39 at the time of her disappearance in the summer of 2007, went missing from Regensburg.

The discovery was made near the municipality of Berg, close to an airfield in the Neumarkt area, following a specific new lead. Investigators have been conducting excavations in the forest area near Kadenzhofen. While the police stated that it is currently “unclear whether these can actually be attributed to the long-missing Kerstin Lee Langley,” forensic examinations are underway to confirm the identity of the remains.

The case has seen various previous attempts to locate Langley, including a 2024 search based on information from a self-described “seer,” which yielded only animal remains. The current investigation continues as authorities search for further evidence at the site.
