Police find suspect dead after fatal stabbing of 19-year-old in Poland

A 19-year-old woman, identified as Magdalena D., was fatally stabbed in Mszana Dolna, Małopolska Voivodeship, on Monday, June 15, 2026. The victim was attacked by her former partner, Kacper W., who reportedly struck her six times with a knife near her home following an argument.

Following the attack, police launched an extensive manhunt involving criminal units, prevention teams, search dogs, and drones. On Tuesday morning, officers patrolling via helicopter discovered the body of the suspect in a forest massif on Góra Spyrkowa, approximately 2 km from the crime scene.

Asp. sztab. Jolanta Batko, spokesperson for the Limanowa police, confirmed that the deceased was the wanted suspect and stated that nothing indicates the involvement of third parties. The suspect died by suicide.
