Police forces in Uruguay and Argentina celebrate milestone anniversaries

The Durazno Police Headquarters in Uruguay marked its 196th anniversary with a ceremony at the Centro Cultural Nacional Sala Lavalleja. Interior Minister Carlos Negro and Police Chief (Ret.) Gabriel Lima attended, honoring retired officers and recognizing high‑risk rescues, including the saving of a woman from the Yía River and an 84‑year‑old from a deep well.

In Rafaela, Argentina, the Guardia Urbana Rafaelina celebrated its 20th year of service. Municipal officials, including Secretary of Prevention Juan Manuel Martínez Saliba, Guard Director Gabriel Fernández and Mayor Leonardo Viotti, took part in the event, highlighting the unit’s growth and its role in local safety and community prevention.
