German police investigate multiple thefts and a hit‑and‑run injuring senior citizens

In the shopping centre Marler Stern, an 85‑year‑old woman lost her handbag and the EC‑card inside; the suspect was identified after police released photos and received public tips. In Ratingen, a 75‑year‑old retiree was duped by a caller posing as a police officer, resulting in the theft of gold bars from her safe.

Separately, a 87‑year‑old pedestrian in St. Ingbert suffered a severe thigh‑bone fracture after a black BMW driver reversed, struck her and fled the scene. Police are urging witnesses to come forward in each case.
