Police in Bohol and Cebu arrest suspects in violent crimes

Police in the Philippines have conducted two separate operations involving violent crimes. In Bohol, authorities arrested a 48-year-old man, identified as alias ‘Monching’, who was listed as the third most wanted person at the provincial level. The suspect, a resident of Inabanga, was apprehended in Barangay Potohan, Tubigon, on August 14 following a warrant for murder issued by the Regional Trial Court in Tagbilaran City.

In Cebu City, a 47-year-old man was arrested in Barangay Pulangbato following a hot-pursuit operation. The suspect allegedly attacked his 41-year-old former partner with a bolo in Talamban on August 14. The victim, who had previously filed violence against women and their children (VAWC) charges against the suspect, sustained severe injuries to her head and shoulder. The suspect was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the attack.
