Police in Caserta and Rome arrest youths for knife robbery and senior fraud

In Caserta, Carabinieri from the local operational unit apprehended a homeless Tunisian minor after he threatened two passers‑by with an 18‑cm knife, demanding their money. The suspect seized €5, but officers recovered the cash and the weapon shortly after, placed the youth in a juvenile reception centre and charged him with aggravated robbery and weapon possession.

In Rome, police stopped a 27‑year‑old man from the province of Caserta at Tiburtina station. He was found carrying jewellery and valuables worth more than €120,000 that had been stolen in two separate scams targeting elderly women. The frauds involved impersonating a Carabinieri marshal and a forensic expert to convince the victims to hand over precious items. The suspect was arrested and the stolen items recovered as part of a broader effort to combat micro‑crime and protect citizens and tourists.
