Dominican police arrest 100 in massive drug bust in Santo Domingo Este
Authorities of the Dominican Republic’s National Drug Control Directorate, together with the Public Ministry and the National Police, carried out a series of coordinated operations in the municipality of Santo Domingo Este. Over 307 targeted raids across neighborhoods such as Villa Faro, Mandinga, Los Mina, Invivienda, Mendoza and others resulted in the arrest of 100 people linked to micro‑trafficking.
Investigators seized 1 086 individual doses of controlled substances weighing a total of about 28.6 kg, including roughly 27.6 kg of cocaine, 0.9 kg of marijuana and 0.017 kg of crack. Additional evidence comprised two communication radios, seven balances, a modified blank firearm, 26 mobile phones, a motorcycle, cash amounting to RD$47 715 and various packaging tools. The operations were part of an ongoing strategy to dismantle small‑scale drug networks and strengthen public security.
The joint effort was overseen by the Joint Task Force (FTC) and will continue in other parts of the country to disrupt further distribution points.
