Ondo State Police Arrest Multiple Suspects in Kidnapping, Murder and Cultist Raids
The Ondo State Police Command announced the arrest of four suspects linked to the kidnapping of Kehinde Yisa and the murder of a 50‑year‑old man, Bako. The men—Umar Ibrahim, Musa Abdullateef, Ojo Sikiru and Oseni Waheed—were seized in coordinated operations across Ondo, Oyo and Ogun states after intelligence, forensic tracking and technical analysis identified their involvement. All four have been charged and the police continue to hunt other members of the criminal network.
In a separate operation, the Special Anti‑Cultism Squad detained six alleged cult members in the Akungba and Iwaro Akoko communities. The suspects—Damilare Kayode, Adejoro Godwin, Adedapo Ogunro, Chisom Okechukwu, Ademulegun Imisi and Odugunle Bukola—were found carrying battle axes, a jackknife, criminal charms and other confraternity paraphernalia. They will also face court charges.
The Amotekun Corps, a regional security agency, rescued eight victims—including a pastor and a teacher—during the anti‑kidnapping effort, freeing them without ransom after a gunfight with the abductors.
